The Natural State passed their medical cannabis initiative back in November of 2016, and has fought through a multitude of law suits that could have interrupted the stability of the program since. Forging ahead, Arkansas has just opened up the submission window for grow/process applications.
The state is expected to grant 5 initial licenses, and has eluded to an additional 3 that could be added further down the line. 32 initial dispensary licenses are also expected.
Home to about 3 million people, Arkansas is expected to be competitive, but won’t present quite the high level of competition we saw in the recent battlegrounds of PA and OH.
The window for grow/process submissions will close September 18, 2017, so the race is on!
