Greece has now joined the Czech Republic, Finland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain as the sixth country in the European Union to legalize medical marijuana

They had previously allowed cannabis with <0.2% THC levels, but the new legislation lifts those restrictions. It also moves cannabis fromĀ Table A to Table B, which is a classification similar to Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 in the US.

The Peloponnese region of Greece is rumored to have some incredible landrace strains awaiting commercial discovery, so it will be interesting to see how the country contributes to the global cannabis landscape in the coming years.
