It’s true – the conservative red state of West Virgina has legalized medical cannabis.
While many may be surprised by the turn in tides here, WV is one of the states hit hardest by the opioid crisis in recent years. Like many other states, they’re hoping that medical cannabis will offer a safer alternative to other prescription pain medications.
So far the program looks to be very closely related to the program in PA, and should allow similar qualifying conditions. Overall I expect the process will be met with lots of controversy because it favors big business.
